In the beginning of Philippines History it has been humbled by the story of Magellan invading the island of Mactan in the Visayas and for which it has been successfully defended by a sultan who's name is Lapu-Lapu. In the following years, the Spaniards came to conquer other islands in Visayas but because of the bravery of some other sultans, they resisted to submit to the invaders, but sad to say there are still those that has been invaded by the tyrant Spanish soldiers. After that, it has been a long struggle, there came the Katipuneros, the National Hero Jose Rizal and many others who sacrificed their lives for Philippine Independence. Those are the early history of this Brave Asian Country.
During the Times of the First World War, there has also been a history that are not known to many, the Date was July 27, 1914, the same day that the First World War began, is also the time that a religion was formally registered in the Philippines - the Iglesia Ni Cristo. It has also been a struggle for the members of this church as they encountered persecutions from other religions and establishing it during the time of war is not an easy task, yet if we will look at the present of where and what they are right now, it is truly unimaginable and amazing as they are building the Best and the Largest Arena in the world which is the Philippine Arena.
After a century of hard work and dedication, on July 27, 2014, this Church will mark it's 100th year anniversary of re-establishment in the Philippines and not only that as it will be a Golden Year to the Philippine History as a historic landmark will be launched in the heart of Ciudad de Victoria, Bocaoue Bulacan, which is the Philippine Arena - a state of the art facility that can accommodate an estimated seating capacity of around 50,000; a mark which makes it the biggest of it's kind in the world in capacity, design, structure not to mention the cost of building it that amounts to 213 million dollars or 9.4 billion pesos excluding other structures that are being built alongside the Arena like the EGM hospital (330 bed), New Era University, Bulacan Branch, Convention Center and an open stadium. How could a minority religion in the Philippines can do that? It only proves one thing, that a True God guides a true religion that is the Iglesia Ni Cristo (Church of Christ).
